What is a competition?

A competition is a leaderboard period with a closing date: final standings, a ceremony for the winners, then the next one starts.

A competition gives the leaderboard a finish line. It runs from a start date to a closing date. At the closing, the final standings are frozen, the winners are celebrated, and a new competition begins straight away.

How it works

  • The manager chooses one kind for the whole team: Week, Month, Quarter or Custom period (a number of days you choose, 14 by default).
  • Competitions follow each other. The next one starts the moment the previous one closes, so every point counts somewhere.
  • Each competition gets a name from its kind: "Week 43, 2026", "October 2026", "Q4 2026" or "Competition #3".
  • On the leaderboard, the Competition tab is selected by default and shows the current competition. Its arrows compare positions with your last visit. The Week, Month and Season tabs, if your manager shows them, keep working as before.
  • At the closing, the standings are frozen and archived, the ceremony shows the winners, and the next competition starts. Ties are settled by a fixed rule: most deals won first, then whoever reached their total first.
  • Closed competitions stay available in Past competitions, with their final standings and the ceremony replay.

The manager sets the kind in the setup wizard, at the Leaderboard and gamification step, or later in Manager area > Settings > Competitions (1 on the screenshot).

Example

Acme Sales chooses Week, closing on Friday at 18:00 (the default).

  • "Week 43, 2026" runs until Friday 23 October at 18:00.
  • At 18:00, the standings freeze. Ana Ruiz finishes 1st with 420 points, Ben Ito 2nd with 380.
  • "Week 44, 2026" starts at once. Everyone starts again from 0 on the Competition tab.
  • On Monday morning, each member sees the ceremony at their next visit (or at the day and time the manager chose).

Good to know

  • Days and closing times follow the team time zone.
  • Changing the kind applies from the next competition, never to the one in progress.
  • An action dated before the closing but received after it counts in the next competition, and is marked in the action log.
  • Only one competition is in progress at a time.

FAQ

Do competitions replace the weekly and monthly leaderboards?

No. Week, Month and Season stay available as tabs if the manager shows them. A competition is an extra period with a closing, a ceremony and an archive.

Can a manager close a competition early?

Yes, from the Current competition card. See How to close a competition.
