How to set the closing schedule

Choose when competitions close automatically: every week, every month, every quarter or every N days, at the hour you pick.

Stoloros closes each competition on its own, following a schedule you set once. You never have to remember to stop the leaderboard on Friday evening.

Before you start

  • You are signed in as a manager.
  • Check the team time zone in Settings > Company. Closing times use it, in whole hours.

Steps

  1. Open Manager area and scroll to Settings > Competitions.
  2. Under Competition period (1 on the screenshot), choose the kind:
    • Week: pick the Closing day (Friday by default).
    • Month: closes on the last day of each month.
    • Quarter: closes at the end of each quarter.
    • Custom period: set the Length in days (14 by default).
  3. Choose the Closing time (2), 18:00 by default.
  4. Read the summary sentence under the fields, for example "Closes every Friday at 18:00."
  5. Click Save competitions (3).

You can make the same choices in the setup wizard, at the Leaderboard and gamification step (1 kind, 2 closing day and time).

Result

The new schedule applies from the next competition. The competition in progress keeps its closing date; to move it, use Change the closing date on the Current competition card.

At the closing time, Stoloros freezes the standings, archives them and starts the next competition. It checks for competitions to close every 15 minutes, and also whenever someone opens the app. The final standings are those at the closing time exactly, even if the check happens a few minutes later.

Good to know

  • The very first competition starts at the last closing date of the schedule that has already passed: for monthly competitions closing at 18:00, on the last day of the previous month at 18:00. A custom period starts right away.
  • With Custom period, you can move the closing date of each competition one by one from the Current competition card.
  • Changing the time zone or the first day of the week in Company also changes how days are counted.
  • With a Friday 18:00 closing, you can still show the ceremony on Monday morning: see The closing ceremony.

FAQ

I changed the schedule but the current competition still ends on the old date. Why?

A change always applies from the next competition, so nobody's race changes mid-way. Move the current date by hand if needed.

Can a competition close at 17:30?

No. Closing times are whole hours.

What happens to a deal won at 17:59 but synced on Monday?

It counts in the next competition and is marked in the action log. See Actions received after a closing.
