Why your total always equals your action log

Your total, the sum of the Points breakdown and the sum of the Action log are always the same number, including capped actions and cancelled awards.

In Stoloros, you can check every point. The total shown on the leaderboard and in My performance is always the exact sum of the actions listed below it.

How it works

  • Every action of the period appears in the Action log, with its points: + for points earned, − for points removed.
  • An action beyond its daily cap is listed with +0 and Daily cap reached, not counted. It adds nothing, so the total stays exact.
  • The Points breakdown groups the same actions by type: Count × Rate = Points. Capped actions are not in the count, and the line says how many were over the cap.
  • Manager awards have their own line, Manager awards, with the rate "Varies".
  • When a manager cancels an award, the award stays in the log, marked "later cancelled", and a new line Manager award cancelled removes the same points. The two lines cancel each other out.
  • The Total at the bottom of the breakdown, the total at the top of the page and the sum of the log are always equal.

Example

Chloé Martin's week at Acme Sales, with the Balanced rules:

  • 1 Deal won: +50.
  • 17 Task completed on Wednesday. The cap is 15 per day: 15 tasks earn +10 each, 2 tasks earn +0.
  • 4 Note added: +5 each.
  • Her manager, Ana Ruiz, awards her +100 points (Custom, "Trade show"). The next day, Ana cancels this award.
  • Ana then awards +40 points (Custom, "Helped onboard Ben").

Points breakdown

Action Count Rate Points
Deal won 1 × 50 50
Task completed (2 over the cap, not counted) 15 × 10 150
Note added 4 × 5 20
Manager awards 1 Varies 40
Total 260

The Manager awards line counts 1 award, because the cancelled one no longer counts: +100 − 100 + 40 = 40.

Action log

The log has 25 lines: 1 won deal, 17 tasks, 4 notes and 3 manager lines (+100 marked "later cancelled", −100 Manager award cancelled, +40).

Sum of the log: 50 + 150 + 0 + 20 + 100 − 100 + 40 = 260 points.

The total at the top of the page is 260. The three numbers match.

Good to know

  • A cancelled award is never erased: the log keeps a trace, with who cancelled it.
  • An award cannot be cancelled once the competition that contains it is closed.
  • A colleague who opens your performance sees the same numbers as you.

FAQ

My leaderboard points and my total differ. Why?

Check that both show the same period. The leaderboard tab and the performance page use the period you selected at the top.

Why do I see +0 lines?

These actions were over the daily cap. They stay visible so you can check the count.
