Why are animations turned off?

No sliding rows, no confetti, a still podium? Your device probably asks apps to reduce motion.

Stoloros animates the leaderboard when you arrive and plays a ceremony when a competition closes. If you only see the final result, with no movement, your device is most likely set to reduce motion.

Before you start

  • Open the Leaderboard and click Replay animation (number 4 on the screenshot). If nothing moves, read on.

How it works

Your device asks apps to reduce motion

Stoloros respects the "reduce motion" setting of your computer or phone. When it is on, the leaderboard shows the final positions and points directly, and the ceremony shows a still podium. This helps people who feel unwell with moving screens. Fix: if you want the animations, turn the setting off:

  • Windows: Settings > Accessibility > Visual effects > Animation effects (turn it on).
  • macOS: System Settings > Accessibility > Display > Reduce motion (turn it off).
  • iPhone and iPad: Settings > Accessibility > Motion > Reduce Motion (turn it off).
  • Android: Settings > Accessibility, then the option to remove animations (turn it off). The exact name depends on the phone.

Then reload Stoloros in your browser.

Nothing changed since your last visit

The arrival animation shows what happened since your last visit: rows slide from their previous positions, points count up, and a "+N" badge shows the points earned. Confetti appears only when a deal was won since your last visit. Fix: click Replay animation to see it again.

Good to know

  • Reducing motion changes only how things appear. Points, ranks and results stay exactly the same.
  • The setting is per device. Your colleagues may see the animations while you do not.
  • In a browser, the setting comes from your operating system, not from Stoloros.

FAQ

Can a manager turn the animations off for the whole team?

No. Each person chooses on their own device with the "reduce motion" setting.

The ceremony was a still podium. Can I replay it with the animations?

Yes. Turn off "reduce motion", then open Past competitions and click Replay the ceremony.
